SPCA supporters take over Uptown hot spot for doggone fun Paws Cause
More than 250 animals lovers invaded Sambuca Uptown for the SPCA of Texas’ Paws Cause, themed “Tails of the West,” where a toe-tappin’ trio played country hits in front of a crackling campfire.
Guests noshed on scrumptious food and knocked back Dakota Drivers and the Lone Rivers, which were named for honorary chair Holly Forsythe’spups. There was also the Bone Appetite restaurant raffle and obvious fun to be had in the photo booth.
Guests — including Diane and Hal Brierley, Jocelyn White, Stacey and Don Kivowitz, Cheryl Wyly, Gloria Campos, Monica Greene, Phyllis Comu, Chart Westcott, and SPCA of Texas President James Bias — also placed their bids in the silent auction, hoping to take home fine art, spa treatments, pet care products, travel packages, delicious wines, fine jewelry and more.
Paws Cause raised more than $200,000 for the SPCA of Texas Clinic at Village Fair. These much-needed funds will help provide more than 12,000 free and low-cost surgeries and 15,000 health and wellness treatments in 2014.
