The organizers of this year's Cattle Baron's Ball have twice as many reasons to be "Texas Proud": Grammy Award-winning country artist Dwight Yoakam will join previously announced headliner Toby Keith at the 2016 event.
Yoakam will be singing for the VIP/live auction portion of the evening's festivities, while Keith will take the main stage.
During Yoakam's 30-year career, he's racked up two Grammys, two Academy of Country Music Awards, and a slew of prestigious nominations. His latest studio album, Second Hand Heart, was released in April 2015.
Not just a singer, he's also made a name for himself in film and television by appearing in the movies Sling Blade and Panic Room (among others) and on the television shows Wilfred and Under the Dome.
Cattle Baron’s Ball, the largest American Cancer Society fundraising event for cancer research in the world, takes place October 15 at Gilley's Dallas. For more information on underwriting opportunities, call 214-443-9222. Individual tickets go on sale in August.
