Jack Ingram and friends help raise big bucks for Elizabeth Toon Charities
More than 1,500 country music fans packed into Palladium Ballroom to see Texas country crooners Jack Ingram and Pat Green, the headliners for the seventh annual Elizabeth Toon Charities concert and fundraising shootout.
But first, Highland Park High School grads Charlie Berry and Brett Taylor of Mockingbird Sun lit up the stage in support of the nonprofit focused on serving children and families in need throughout Texas.
Not to take away from Ingram and Green, who certainly know how to wow a crowd, but the real show began with the live auction — which by itself raked in $96,000.
The next day, more than 400 devotees headed to the Dallas Gun Club for a sporting clay tournament. More than 80 teams competed, and Brandt Landry's team took first place, followed by the BBVA Compass team in second. All tallied, the two-day event raised $467,000.
On the charitable scene were supporters Ashley Floyd, Laura Toon, Patty Toon, Larry Toon, John Fincher, Christy Summers, Courtney Birdwell, Jenny Houseman, Daniella Giglio, Robyn Stevens and Carmen Miller.
