An Affair of the Art kicks off new fundraising season with glam gallery get together
More than 100 guests joined co-chairs Nina and Decker Sachse and Andrea and Heath Cheek at Conduit Gallery for a cocktail reception to kick off An Affair of the Art: Artrageous. This marks the 21st year for the Dallas Museum of Art Junior Associates’ signature fundraiser.
Guests — including Rachel and Michael Osburn, Vernoica Roper, Robert Ivey, Megan Ruth Bowdon, Elizabeth Duffy, Chris Melella, and Jason Ko — sipped signature cocktails and nibbled bites from Doug Boster Catering. Partygoers also perused the exhibition galleries, which featured works by artists Billy Hassell and Reinhard Ziegler.
This year’s An Affair of the Art is set for September 20, in the sculpture garden at the DMA. With the theme Artrageous, attendees can expect an art-filled event that includes an auction of items created by teens in the Advanced Placement Fine Arts program in Dallas-area public schools.
Since its inception in 2003, An Affair of the Art has raised more than $2 million to benefit the Dallas Museum of Art, with proceeds supporting nationally touring exhibitions and acquisitions of works of art for the DMA’s collection. The proceeds from the September 20 evening will benefit the expansion of the DMA’s teen educational programs.
