Now that October is here, the Friends and Young Friends of Wilkinson Center have their "Shaken, Not Stirred" gala on the brain. The group hosted a gorgeous kickoff party at Kendra Scott, where they shared exciting news: This year's honorary chairs are Mayor Mike Rawlings and his wife, Micki. How's that for top-of-the-line support?
In addition to shopping for baubles by Kendra Scott — the store offered a 10 percent discount and donated 10 percent of sales from the evening to the organization — supporters sipped Deep Eddy Ruby Red Cocktails and champagne and noshed on light bites. Union Bear, Kendra Scott's West Village neighbor, offered two additional specialty drinks, and 15 percent of the proceeds went to the Wilkinson Center.
Among those spotted on this charitable scene: Emily Greenhaw, Kristen Johnson, Chela Moros, Adrienne O’Connor, Anne Reeder, Sandra Pomeroy, Vickie Thompson, Milagros Moros, Judith Fernandez, Tiffany Divis, Kathy Coons, Celeste Lockin and Lauren Mason.
The James Bond-themed “Shaken, not Stirred” gala takes place Friday, October 25, at The Adolphus. The evening raises money to support Wilkinson Center in its mission to provide a food pantry and educational services to address the underlying causes of poverty. Tickets to the annual fundraiser can be purchased online.
