1. Fletcher’s Corny Dogs unveils retro concession stand at 2016 State Fair of Texas. Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs, maker of the trademark hot dog in a cornmeal crust, has new concession stand that you could almost call tasteful, at least by the raucous standards of State Fair design.
2. Creative couple turns industrial warehouse into Dallas art world’s next destination. Nestled in the South Dallas sweet spot between Expo Park and the Cedars, an unobtrusive corrugated warehouse is poised to become the Dallas art world’s newest hot spot. The couple transforming it has ties to the building.
3. Couple gets everything they never knew they wanted at their Dallas wedding. Katie and Brent Laverde are proof that sometimes your friends do know what’s best for you. In the case of this couple, Katie’s roomie was dating Brent’s older brother, and mutual friends insisted the two should meet.
4. The top 6 endangered sites Preservation Dallas hopes to save in 2016. This week, Preservation Dallas released its 2016 list of most endangered historic places in Dallas, and it ranges from buildings downtown to important homes in the Park Cities.
5. Dallas home-cooking classic shuts down restaurants across Texas. Iconic home-cooking chain Black-Eyed Pea, founded in Dallas back in 1975, has closed nearly all of its restaurants, leaving only the branch in Arlington Highlands, and possibly two others.
