Chantal Rice is the new editor of CultureMap Austin and CultureMap San Antonio. She has been a working writer, editor and journalist for more than 25 years, and has contributed to a variety of local, regional, and national publications. A graduate of the University of Arkansas (Woo pig sooie!), Chantal moved to Austin in 2000, where she continued to grow her journalism career, most notably with positions at the Austin Business Journal, L Style/G Style magazine, and Austin Woman magazine. She enjoys working with young reporters and helping lift the careers of up-and-coming local journalists. In her free time, she can probably be found sipping a margarita at a local Tex-Mex joint, rooting for UT football, or cheering on her favorite race car drivers at Circuit of the Americas.
