If you don’t count her 4.5 years at Texas Tech and one long, miserable winter on the coast of Maine, Merritt is a lifelong Dallas-ite. She lives in the Park Cities where, even though she has been busy busting unregistered pedophiles and breaking the national story about a Boy Scout troop kicking a volunteer dad to the curb, she is really just known for an award winning column she wrote in 2007 about a crazy PTA lady, the original Volamom.
Over the years, Merritt has contributed to various local news outlets including the Dallas Morning News, Park Cities People and D Magazine. She gained a national following with her signature recaps of reality television shows, most notably Style Network’s Big Rich Texas.
She is severely germaphobic, posts photos of her cat on Instagram, and judges women based on their shoes and handbags.
