Kitchen Dog Theater kicks off its 23rd season of theater with the regional premiere of Detroit by Lisa D'Amour. In a first ring suburb outside a midsize American city, Ben and Mary fire up the grill to welcome the new neighbors who've moved into the long-empty house next door. The fledgling friendship soon veers out of control, shattering the fragile hold that newly unemployed Ben and burgeoning alcoholic Mary have on their way of life - with unexpected comic consequences.
"Talk-Backs" with the actors and director follow the Sunday matinee performances on October 6 and 20. Pay-What-You-Can specials (available to the first 25 patrons) are on Wednesdays (October 9 and October 23) and Thursdays (October 3, 10, 17, and 24).
