Caravan: A Revolution on the Road is a multi-disciplinary collaboration by Grammy® Award-winning jazz artist Terence Blanchard, internationally renowned choreographer Rennie Harris and Dallas-based visual artist Andrew Scott. Caravan will bring together live musical performances by Blanchard and his band, the E-Collective, choreography by Harris and dance by his company, Puremovement, and Scott’s visual projections, sculpture and projection mapping.

The performance will expand upon a theme that Terence Blanchard began exploring a few years ago: racial tension and injustice. Responding to recent events, Blanchard and the E-Collective recorded an album, Breathless, and performed the music from the album across America, visiting cities, including Dallas, that were impacted by recent acts of violence by and against police officers. Recognizing the healing effect of music, Blanchard decided to continue the project and engage additional artists. Caravan will add a new dimension to the work that Blanchard has done to bring about a changing of hearts and souls.

Prior to the performance, SOLUNA and Dallas Black Dance Theatre will co-host a community discussion about racial healing and the arts. Discussion panel members will include Terence Blanchard, Andrew Scott and emerging choreographer and Dallas native My’kal J. Stromile.
