The Mason Bar (closed)

Mason Bar can get rowdy on the weekends but it's good all the time.

Located in a former Freemason lodge, the Mason Bar is a New Orleans-style restaurant and bar for the Uptown crowd. In the main room you can grab a table with a group and knock back some Hemingway daiquiris while watching the game. The food bears mentioning too – from Mason fries loaded down with ancho pork, cheddar, cilantro sour cream and bacon to trout meuniere and “nice” (garlic, white wine, cream) and “naughty” (brandy and romesco) mussels. However, if you're feeling a little more clandestine, or you just want a place to chat up your date one-on-one, head downstairs to the Hi/Lo speakeasy, where you can hear some jazz bands laying down their groove.
