This contemporary art gallery housed in an industrial-style warehouse with cement floors and vast open spaces is the perfect setting for some of the stark, provocative, and sometimes disquieting displays exhibited here. The museum often hosts three to four exhibitions simultaneously. Often visitors leave with a great philosophical question on their mind: “What is art?” Whether you’re an art enthusiast or not, it’s worth checking out, as this gallery and its membership are making their indelible mark on the Dallas community. The gallery recently hired Shepard Fairey (known for his Obama HOPE poster) to create a series of murals in west Dallas.

If you’re a contemporary art enthusiast, visit the Dallas Contemporary for one of its opening receptions, where you’ll find like-minded individuals, artists, and refreshments.
