David M. Schwarz designed Globe Life Park in Arlington, a state-of-the-art facility that seats 49,170 baseball fans. (Schwarz has made other marks in North Texas, including Bass Performance Hall and Southlake Town Square.) The open-air facility debuted in 1994 and received upgrades to video, technology and audio systems for the 2011 season. In addition to an office building for Rangers staff, youth baseball park and 75 concession stands, the complex boasts a 12-acre lake with adjoining park and recreation space. It has gone by four names its short history: The Ballpark in Arlington, Ameriquest Field in Arlington, Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and, starting in 2014, Globe Life Park in Arlington. Ever since the Texas Rangers made it to the franchise’s first World Series in 2010, the stadium has been packed. Bonus: There are 15 parking lots surrounding the stadium.
