This historic European-style hotel in the heart of downtown Dallas has several claims to fame, starting with its founder, beer baron Adolphus Busch. Since opening in 1912, the hotel has welcomed several prominent figures and celebrities, such as Queen Elizabeth II, the Vanderbilts, U2, Oscar de la Renta, Babe Ruth and Donald Trump. The French Room, the hotel’s fine-dining (but not-at-all stuffy) restaurant, is one of the city’s most exquisite dining experiences. Guests and locals like to partake in afternoon tea amid the antiques and Flemish tapestries, and because of its ample ballroom space, The Adolphus is a popular spot for wedding receptions.
