Clubby steakhouse at the foothills of Highland Park is the beefeater’s pick among Dallas high society and celebs like Jennifer Aniston or Will Ferrell when they’re stuck in the unfortunate position of passing through town. Prime rib stands tall and red, and steaks are impeccably cooked, with prices to match. There is caviar, of course, and non-beef options, such as horseradish-crusted halibut or Mafia-esque chicken piccata with linguini. Salads like the wedge or hearts of palm look straight out of Bon Appetit. The wine list is predictably stupendous, i.e. big Cabs and French Champagne. But the real star is owner Al Biernat, who manages to be as classy as the clientele while catering to their needs.
