Texas dominates list of best cities for Hispanic entrepreneurs
Business-friendly Texas has a new accolade for the entrepreneurial crowd. A new report names three Lone Star cities the best for Hispanic entrepreneurs.
This is an important demographic to watch — and bolster — as Hispanics are creating businesses at 15 times the national rate. To determine which U.S. cities provide the best atmospheres for these budding entrepreneurs, WalletHub analyzed key metrics in two categories: Hispanic business-friendliness and Hispanic purchasing power.
Laredo, El Paso, and Corpus Christi claim the top three slots overall. Laredo, No. 1, takes top honors for both business-friendliness and purchasing power. It also boasts the second-highest share of Hispanic-owned businesses in the country.
While there's room for improvement in most large metros — Houston is 26th, Dallas is 37th, and Austin is 46th — Texas, as a whole, is full of opportunities. In total, eight Lone Star State spots appear in the top 20, including Brownsville (No. 7), Amarillo (No. 11), Plano (No. 12), San Antonio (No. 13), and Grand Prairie (No. 18).
