Festival Time
One-night-only concert + festival brings beauty of Laos to Irving
On April 26, get ready to experience an event unlike any other. Red Tape Culture & Music Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission of promoting culture and preservation, will be hostingLao Legends, a cultural show and conference with music, dancing, and more.
If you're unfamiliar with Laos and Lao culture, this is the perfect time to learn. Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordered by Vietnam, China, Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar. Its New Year celebration — Pi Mai Lao — happens in mid-April, so this event is ideally timed to follow that.
Beginning at 6:30 pm at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, international Lao and local Lao-American artists will be performing classic songs and new tracks composed specifically for this conference. You'll even get the chance to learn a traditional Lao dance from the audience.
Expect to see such performers as Dao Neua, Sam Intharaphithak, Tou Hero, OLA Blackeyes, Somsinh Thammachalern, and many more.
Browse booths and showcases from other nonprofits and for-profit businesses that further support the promotion and preservation of Lao culture and musical arts.
Proceeds from the concert will go to multiple organizations that align with the mission, such as the Lao Heritage Foundation.
The concert and conference is one night only, so don't hesitate in buying your tickets today for what's sure to be a memorable evening.
