Planet Bardot celebrates Knox Street arrival with fashionable fete
Dallas fashionistas flocked to Knox Street for the better-late-than-never grand opening party of Planet Bardot, a recent addition to the block’s growing list of fashionable storefronts. The boutique boasts a West Coast vibe and a curated selection of designer apparel from brands such as Philippe Model, K. Jacques, Frame Denim, Helmut Lang, Vince, Pam & Gela and Paul & Joe.
Owner Diana Tabeshi was there to welcome superbly dressed VIPs, including Lynn McBee, Lizzie Wheelis, Katie Havins, Brandy Taylor, Robin Ladick and Alberto Lombardi. But Tabeshi’s fan base extends far beyond Dallas: The Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award winner is known as a contemporary denim authority — thanks to her former lines Denim for Immortality and Aristocrat Denim —and counts celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Eva Mendes, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Aniston, Molly Sims and Kate Bosworth among her followers.
With her Dallas store, Tabeshi seeks to help shoppers find pieces that best suit them based on their body types. And she offers this advice to anyone struggling to find her personal style.
“Go for something that is uniquely you, that you feel comfortable in,” she says. “We all want to do makeovers and try new styles but always end up returning to our own style.
“At Planet Bardot, we always identify a customer’s style and then enhance it, without getting out of their comfort zone. Otherwise, the clothes will only hang on the hanger and not on the shoulders.”
