Good news for North Texas foodies in search of fresh, local produce: Coppell Farmers Market has been deemed one of the best in America by the Daily Meal, and it's one of only three in Texas to measure up.

The site ranked national farmers markets based on the following criteria: standards for vendors, street cred and Twitter following, accolades, quality and variety of products sold, and affordability. "We also value the atmosphere we experience at the market, how friendly and helpful the vendors are, and what kind of information is made available to us about the market and its vendors," writes the Daily Meal.

The Coppell Farmers Market, which got a new pavilion last year, ranks No. 95 out of 101. "All produce comes from farms fewer than 150 miles from the market, and the specific growing conditions from each farm are labeled on the market's website," according to the article.

Located in Old Town Coppell at 768 Main St., the market is open April through November (last day is November 21), from 8 am-noon, rain or shine.

Austin favorites fared even better. Hope Farmers Market takes the No. 9 spot, and SFC Farmers' Market lands at No. 16.
