Best Summer Destinations
The best cities for summer travel? Dallas nearly tops the list.
A new study suggests that Dallas is as fun and affordable to visit as it is to live in: WalletHub determined that Big D is the eighth best (and most budget-friendly) city for summer travel. It is one of two Lone Star locales in the top 10, as Austin ranks No. 6.
WalletHub analyzed the country’s 80 largest metro areas across 13 key metrics, including airfare costs, flight times and the number of attractions in the city. Texas, Florida and Oklahoma lead the list of economical summer destinations, each with at least two cities in the top 15.
According to the survey, Texas has a lot to brag about (as if we need any help in that area). In addition to Dallas and Austin, Houston, McAllen and San Antonio rank in the top 50.
Dallas and Austin shine as two of the cities with the least complicated travel experiences. McAllen is among the five cities with the lowest local costs.
