Enjoy Some Pooltime
Storied downtown Dallas hotel unveils splashy new rooftop feature
As part of an overall renovation, The Adolphus hotel has unveiled a new rooftop pool and bar on the seventh floor, with views of downtown Dallas.
According to a release, Pool Adolphus is a completely new build-out, with six private cabanas and lounge chairs that are semi-submerged in the pool. At night it transforms into a scene, complete with fire pit and cocktails.
There are also snacks. The hotel's culinary team has created a poolside menu reflective of the space, with a refreshing, healthy angle. Morning offerings include chia seed pudding with coconut milk, mango, and berries, or papaya with caramelized pineapple and mint, cottage cheese, melon, and almonds.
Daytime dishes range from light bites such as grapefruit salad with watercress, sunflower seeds, and goat cheese, to a heartier Texas Wagyu burger with cheddar cheese and smoked bacon, served with hand-cut fries.
Sweets include popsicles in flavors such as lemon-basil and strawberry-prosecco. A category called "Puddin's" features flavors like chocolate-avocado with raspberry compote and a chocolate cookie spoon, and Key lime curd with coconut mousse and a graham cracker spoon.
The bad news: The pool is open only to hotel guests. The good news: The hotel is offering a staycation package from now until Labor Day, starting at $179 per person, with access to the pool and $20 credit at the pool bar.
Also on deck for The Adolphus is a new health club. Executed in phases to minimize guest impact, the hotel is currently making improvements to the French Room, lobby bar, and social lobby areas.
