Home Decor Deals
Ever wanted to raid a stylist's stash? It's possible at this Dallas pop-up.
Ever see the gorgeous accessories, furniture, and props used by a photo stylist or interior designer and think, “I want that for my home”? Well, on Saturday, September 12, you can get it.
The Local-Global-Social pop-up shop at Acme Creative Lab in North Oak Cliff is the brainchild of creative professional and interior stylist Paige Morse, who has worked with House Beautiful, Design*Sponge, Good Housekeeping, Elle Décor, Domino, and Architectural Digest. At the shop, open from 9 am-3 pm, she is offering high-end furniture and antiques, handmade and vintage art, funky collectibles, and vintage apparel from her personal collection.
“I was thinking about having a yard sale, because I have almost 15 years of furniture, accessories, textiles, pillows, and tons of really cool stuff from photo shoots and design jobs,” Morse says. “People are excited to get their hands on this stuff!”
Deal hunters can also find hundreds of photo props Morse has used over the years — from dishware and silverware to chairs, side tables, and planters. Other must-haves include rugs, pillows, and throws from Loloi, a brand not normally available to the public.
But it’s not just Morse’s wares at the pop-up. Shoppers can browse items from Texas designers, artists, and resellers. All items will be sold for prices ranging from $25 to $2,000.
“This is a great opportunity for other designers and artists to share their things — a lot of them only have online shops,” Morse says. ”These are some of Texas’ most talented artists, designers, and resellers, and all of the locally produced furnishings and accessories for sale tell their own story.
All of the participating vendors encourage positive social, ecological, or global change with their work. GAIA, for example, hires local refugees to hand-make bags using fabric remnants to keep the eco-imprint smaller. Other merchants include the following:
- Hurd & Honey: Handmade, reclaimed wood décor
- Dalena Vintage: Designer vintage clothing
- Ashlee McClung: Abstract paintings by Dallas-area artist
- Project 4.30: Locally produced, handmade handbags and leatherworks
- Brad Hatton and Andrew Rodriguez: Furnishings and accessories with a masculine and industrial slant from high-end photo stylists
- Set & Co: Artisanal kitchen and home décor curated globally and sold locally at a beautiful shop in Oak Cliff
- Tobeto Design: Custom furniture made from salvaged wood and recycled materials
“With such an awesome variety of products, there will be something that speaks to everyone,” Morse says.
