As part of its Dallas Pride Performing Arts Festival, Uptown Players will present Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche. It’s 1956 and the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein, all self-described widows, are having their annual quiche breakfast. There is much talk of the history of this all-female institution, founded by a pioneering woman who stumbled in the woods upon a colony of hens. It should be noted that no meat has ever touched their quiche. Will they be able to keep their cool when Communists threaten their idyllic town?
