SMU student reports sexual assault in campus dorm
An SMU student has reported that she was sexually assaulted by a male student on September 17. The incident occurred around 1 am in a room at the Crum Residence Commons.
SMU issued an on-campus crime alert September 18 and stated that the SMU Police Department was investigating the incident.
This is the second reported rape of an SMU student in 10 days. On September 7, a female SMU student was jogging about a half mile off campus when a man approached her from behind and raped her at knifepoint.
Torey Jamal Harris, 23, has since confessed to the crime. But not before he allegedly attacked another coed near Navarro College in Corsicana. He is being held on a $200,000 bond.
