Victory Park Renaissance
Victory Park is getting a movie theater courtesy of fancy new chain
There may not be a movie theater in downtown Dallas proper, but the area will soon be surrounded by movie options: Victory Park is adding an eight-screen theater from Cinépolis USA. It's the chain's first location in Texas.
Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas-Victory Park will be at the northwest corner of Victory Park Lane and High Market Street, which currently is a surface parking lot. The new theater will be part of a multilevel, mixed-use building that also will include residential space, retail stores and a new 640-space parking garage.
The theater will be around 44,000 square feet; its eight auditoriums will seat around 700 people. Projected to open in 2017, it will feature auditoriums with fully reclining leather seats, state-of-the-art sound and projection technology, and a gourmet menu with in-theater waiter service.
This will be the 13th location for Cinépolis USA, which is owned by the Mexico-based Cinépolis. It currently has seven locations open in California and two in Florida; three more Florida theaters are slated to open soon.
Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas-Victory Park joins Alamo Drafthouse, which announced a new location in the Cedars in July 2014, in offering new movie options close to downtown Dallas.
The new theater is just one of a slew of changes coming to what's being dubbed the "New Victory Park." Recent new tenants include Simply Elegant, Read Between the Lines and Victory Park CrossFit (which opens April 18), plus Jimmy John's and new Buzzbrews.
There also will be a new 250-space parking facility coming to the corner of Victory Avenue and Lamar Street, and a new building being called Victory Center will begin construction in mid-2015 at a location off Victory Avenue.
