ACL music festival unleashes 2013 two-weekend schedule
This past week, Austin City Limits Music Festival released the schedule for its 2013 event, which spans two weekends in October. The lineup — including headliners and up-and-comers — was released in early May but sans details on when each band would hit the stage.
The guessing game is now over, and festival-goers can begin planning how to navigate the three-day weekends of music. The schedule reveals that headliner slots are the same for both weekends (October 4-6 and October 11-13).
Lionel Richie close the festival both Sundays, playing from 8:30-10 pm on the Skyline Stage.
Depeche Mode plays both Fridays, from 8-9:30 pm; Muse takes the 8:30-10 pm closing slot. Kings of Leon and The Cure headline both Saturdays, and The Cure gets the coveted two-hour set from 8-10 pm.
Lionel Richie closes the festival both Sundays, playing from 8:30-10 pm on the Skyline Stage.
Although the headliners don't vary from weekend to weekend, the remainder of the festival programming offers plenty of variables. Early shows each day highlight a variety of Austin talent (Dana Falconberry, Bobby Jealousy and Band of Heathens) and up-and-coming acts (Sons of Fathers, Parquet Courts and The Durdens).
The full schedule for ACL Fest is available online. Tickets for weekend one are sold out, but three-day passes for weekend two are still available.
