Why video can be the difference-maker for every kind of special event
Video production has become an important component for all types of special events, such as weddings, anniversaries, debutante balls, birthdays, fundraisers and corporate meetings. (Yes, there’s plenty of fun to be captured in the business world!)
In the past, video production was most popular for weddings. We saw the videographer lugging around her large camera and obtrusive lights, doing whatever was needed to capture the precious moments of the ceremony and reception.
Today, video production has come a long way with regard to technology. Now cameras are smaller and can function without those enormous lights. As a result, capturing moments on video is much less disruptive to your event.
Video trends
In addition to video production being more widely used for special events, there’s also a surge in popularity for a photomontage that’s shown at birthdays, anniversaries, weddings or bat/bar mitzvahs. These montages can include favorite songs, short videos and animation to create a wow factor.
Another trend is a save-the-date video. Most commonly used for weddings, these videos also offer creative and effective ways for nonprofits to share their messages and boost fundraising efforts. And then there’s the social media component: You can use links to these videos for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other websites.
Corporate benefits
In business, video production is gaining popularity for its use at corporate and association meetings. It’s more frequently being used today than in years past on corporate websites, business-related Facebook pages and YouTube.
For many companies, the use of online tools has become instrumental for educational and training purposes, particularly because budgets don’t always support bringing the entire company into one location. In addition, depending on the type of meeting, it can be valuable for attendees and prospective sponsors to see various professionals attending the event.
Video helps to capture those interactions and networking, and it can be powerful to the company that’s hosting the video to demonstrate that they have the right people together in one room. And let’s not forget the role that sponsors play in these events.
Video production can capture the sponsors’ marketing messaging and assist with branding. Sponsor-included videos ensure these important companies enjoy a return on investment through recognition.
