Coffee is now brewing at Method: Caffeination & Fare in East Dallas
East Dallas indie coffee spot Method: Caffeination & Fare has an imminent opening date: May 17. Louie Corwin, the 25-year-old coffee aficionado owner, confirmed that he'll be brewing on the corner spot of Ross Avenue and Hall Street, next to Joyce & Gigi's Kitchen, on Saturday morning.
His beans are from roaster Novel Coffee. Preparation methods include Chemex, an Espro brand French press, and an espresso machine by a Seattle outfit called Slayer with polished wood paddles that retails for just under $20,000. "It's a custom-made machine that takes a whole new approach on how to pull shots," Corwin says.
He's making the most of his patio space with a built-in counter that runs around the circumference of the space and high stools that soak in the quiet of Hall Street while looking out on passing traffic on Ross.
The inside space is a well-designed 1,750 square feet, with a row of tables along the wall and a couch sitting area in front. One wall is made of original exposed brick.
Hours on Saturday will be 8 am to 5 pm, and on Sunday, 8 am to midnight. Weekdays the shop will be open from 6:30 am to 5 pm.
