Annie Potasznik
Dallas native Annie Potasznik spent much of her childhood in Liege, Belgium,where her mother is from. She attended Booker T. Washington High School for thePerforming and Visual Arts and received a dance scholarship from TempleUniversity in Philadelphia. But her time in the City of Brotherly Love was cutshort after a career-ending injury sent her back home to Texas.Potasznik got back on her feet and started pursuing her love of journalism atthe University of North Texas. Prior to earning a degree in broadcastjournalism, she started working as a writer and associate producer for NBCKXAS-TV. After working at the TV station several years, she accepted a positionas the editor of a regional lifestyle publication. NBC came calling again andoffered her an on-air position as the market’s only nightlife correspondent. Her“Around Town” segments featured local hot spots, celebrity chefs, fashiondesigners, music moguls and more.After a decade in the news business, Potasznik has switched gears and accepted aposition as SafeHaven of Tarrant County [https://www.safehaventc.org]’scommunications coordinator. She shares the nonprofits passionate goal to enddomestic violence through safety, support, prevention and social change.
