Dallas Philanthropy Scene
No ties required at this dessert party kickoff for AIDS Services of Dallas
It’s No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party’s 10th year on the Dallas philanthropic scene, and 150 of the event’s biggest supporters showed up at Scott + Cooner for the best kick-off party to date.
Co-chairs David Nelson and Dennis Kershner and honorary co-chairs Jody and Sterling O’Donnell introduced themselves and let everyone in on some exciting updates about the annual fundraiser, including a new VIP ticket option (offering exclusive auction packages, cocktails and desserts) and a shiny new website.
With lively Hindi music filling the venue, and models Deanna Cahill and Alika Ray dressed in exotic Indian fashions and cat walking around the showroom, it didn’t take guests long to figure out the 2015 theme, “Under the Yum Yum Tree.” The Bollywood-style kick-off served as a small taste of things to come at the main event, which is set for Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
As guests — including Don Maison, LeeAnne Locken, Steve Kemble, Stuart Boslow, Rob Cahill, Blake Baker, Chris Huffstutler and Sara Fangmeyer — sipped cocktails from Equality Vodka and enjoyed bites from Hattie’s, they also signed up to be dinner hosts, sponsors, volunteers or guests at the spring party. Nothing like a little buzzed food coma to really get people in the mood to give their time and money. I like their style.
No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party is the largest fundraiser for AIDS Services of Dallas, which provides housing and supportive services for low-income and formerly homeless men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS.
