Theatre Three scoops up time-traveling smash hit On the Eve for upcoming season
You may have heard us talking about On the Eve before. Did you go see it last December? If you did, you know why practically every theater critic in Dallas-Fort Worth named it as one of the top productions of 2012. If you missed it — easy to do, because its two-week run quickly sold out — Theatre Three is giving you another chance to experience it.
Theatre Three revealed today that On the Eve will be part of its 2013/14 season. Exact dates and more info will be available when the theater announces its full season in April, but for now Dallasites can content themselves with the knowledge that this unique local musical will receive greater exposure.
In 2012, On the Eve played to tremendous reviews at the Margo Jones Theater in the Magnolia Lounge at Fair Park. With a book by Kitchen Dog Theater company member Michael Federico and a 12-song score by local band Home By Hovercraft — fronted by husband-and-wife duo Seth and Shawn Magill — the original musical combines time travel, Irish step dancing, Marie Antoinette, a talking statue and a space cowboy.
To explain further would be futile. Just trust us when we say you should get your tickets as soon as they’re available.
