Breakfast choices dramatically improve near Dallas’ NorthPark Center
Norma’s Cafe, the home-cooking restaurant famous for breakfast and Mile-High Pies (it’s trademarked, you know), has set an opening date for its fourth location: July 12. Circle that on the calendar, because the first 100 customers through the doors, which open at 6 am, get free chicken-fried steak for a year.
The new Norma’s is located at Caruth Plaza, 9100 N. Central Expwy., Ste. 151, near Bed Bath & Beyond. For some more context, that’s right across the street from the Shops at Park Lane and across the expressway from NorthPark Center.
There is seating for about 133 guests, who can dine on big breakfasts, including biscuits and gravy, plus comforting dishes such as fried chicken and chicken and dumplings. It’ll feel similar to the locations in North Dallas and Frisco, i.e., a modernized version of the original on West Davis Street in Oak Cliff.
To celebrate the opening — and, one presumes, the restaurant’s 60th birthday, as it was founded in 1956 — Norma’s Cafe is hosting raffles throughout July at the Park Lane location. Prizes include free pancakes for a year, pie of the month club membership, pancake parties for eight, breakfast for two certificates, and Norma’s Cafe merchandise. Winners will receive the good news on August 1.
