New bowling destination joins Grand Prairie's buzzy entertainment scene
The booming metropolis of Grand Prairie is in line for some bowling and dining. Main Event Entertainment, a Dallas-based chain of venues that combine bowling, dining, and entertainment, will open a location in Grand Prairie in late 2019.
When it opens, it will be the seventh Main Event Entertainment center in Dallas-Fort Worth and the 44th in the country.
The G.P. location will be at 3102 S. Hwy. 161 in a newly built 48,000-square-foot center with 22 bowling lanes with unique technology, luxury seating, laser tag, a gravity ropes course and zip line, billiards, shuffleboard, and a games gallery featuring more than 130 of the latest interactive and virtual video games.
"We've found the perfect location in Grand Prairie and look forward to joining the community," says Main Event president and CEO Chris Morris.
Founded in 1998, Main Event's slogan is "Eat. Bowl. Play." Its audience includes families, young adults, and groups of all ages, and it's a popular destination for parties and events, including a new VIP Party package for kids that includes a scavenger hunt.
Their menu is heavy on sharable dishes like wings, pizza, nachos, and more in a full-service American-fare grill. They also have a sports bar with craft cocktails and big-screen TVs.
Grand Prairie is enjoying a business growth spurt with exciting openings such a new IKEA store and the game-changing Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, which opened in 2018. Grand Prairie's Grand Peninsula neighborhood was forecast to be one of the three hottest real estate markets in DFW for 2019, and Grand Prairie also ranked among the top 10 happiest cities in America. Let's everybody just move there already.
Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen says that Main Event makes another good addition.
"Our various entertainment venues, events and attractions draw about 10 million people a year to the area and Main Event will be one more very strong reason to visit Grand Prairie," Jensen says.
