Everyone knows the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek is one of those places reserved for special occasions. But according to Fox News, it is also one of the 10 best hotel restaurants in the country. The stakes have been raised, folks.
Officially, the Mansion landed at No. 6 on Fox’s list, behind such restaurants as Cafe Boulud at The Surrey in New York City and the Georgian Room at The Cloister in Sea Island, Georgia. The pictures tell us that they look equally fancy to the highfalutin setting at the Mansion.
The Mansion is arguably the best place in Dallas to feel like a 1920s cotton baron, not that there’s a whole lot of competition.
As for the Mansion restaurant itself, Fox News describes it as “Dallas’ grande dame of dining” and notes the efforts to preserve the hotel’s historic roots while looking toward the future. It is arguably the best place in Dallas to feel like a 1920s cotton baron, not that there’s a whole lot of competition.
There are a few good hotel restaurants in Dallas, though, and it’s nice to see one make a national list.
In fact, it’s been a good run for the Rosewood Mansion this month. It was one of three Dallas hotels to land on Conde Nast Traveler’s2014 Gold List. We also fancy it as a drinking spot. It’s just a nice hotel, okay?
As for the absolute best hotel restaurant in the country, that honor goes to the Barn at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee. It’s a fine dining restaurant in a turn-of-the-century barn that sources free-range livestock from the nearby Smoky Mountain range. That’s so whimsical it’s practically cheating.
