Healthy Dallas restaurant doesn't skimp on most important meal of day
Denver-based Modmarket is one of the most notable restaurant chains to arrive in Dallas-Fort Worth, as part of a wave of new healthy dining options. Modmarket has planted three locations in the area — in Flower Mound, Plano and Dallas — and two more are coming soon, to Southlake and Richardson's new CityLine complex.
Modmarket prides itself on serving "real" food, made from scratch using whole ingredients such as whole grain flour, raw vegetables, fruit and legumes, as well as natural, humanely raised meats and quality cheeses. Dishes are served raw, grilled or cooked in a stone hearth oven, in a fast casual format.
In this exclusive video, we visited the Plano store to chat with director of culinary operations Nathan Weir. He shares with us the Modmarket philosophy and highlights a few things the restaurant does best.
He's particularly proud of breakfast. "Our breakfast is something we're really proud of, because it's an opportunity to get cooked-to-order eggs but still get them in a fast fashion," he says.
"A lot of times when you're looking for fast breakfast, you're not getting eggs cooked they way you like them."
