Dallas Love Field tweaks parking rates to tempt us to drive there
Following approval by the Dallas City Council, Dallas Love Field has made big changes to its parking options, effective November 1.
Love Field will open its third garage, called Parking Garage C, with a total of 12,000 spaces, which will be connected to the terminal via a skybridge on the west side. At the same time, Love Field is eliminating the Love Connection, its remote parking lot that offered a discounted rate of $6 per day.
However, the airport is reducing rates in its current garages, as follows:
- Garage A will be $15, down from $17
- Covered parking in Garage B will be $9, down from $13
- Uncovered roof parking will be $7, down from $13
They're also introducing multiple pricing options for Garage C:
- Standard covered parking $15
- Uncovered roof parking $13
- Premium reserved parking $25
- Valet $26
Director Mark Duebner says in a release that they've added spaces and lowered prices, all to get us to drive there.
"We want our customers to know we have the parking space available to accommodate them, and we encourage them to drive themselves to the airport," he says.
The release states that the pricing structure gives Love Field the lowest-priced terminal parking garages of Texas airports.
The new high-tech Garage C features a parking access revenue control system integrated with NTTA TollTags; license plate recognition; and a pay-by-foot kiosk in the terminal.
The garage also has speed ramps connecting customers directly to their level of choice and wayfinding to help customers better find open spaces and receive real-time garage level counts.
