More than 200 guests came together for The Arts Community Alliance’s (TACA) Custom Auction Gala at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, raising more than $400,000 in support of the performing arts in North Texas.
Attendees sipped signature Patrón cocktails while marveling at the gorgeous venue decorated in elegant arrangements by floral sponsor Faye C. Briggs. Event chairs Barbara and Don Daseke and honorary event chairs Carrie and Andy Teller then welcomed guests into the dining rooms for a delicious meal consisting of chilled lobster, beef tenderloin, and braised short rib. Bruno Davaillon and his culinary team always impress.
Post-dinner, it was time for the highlight of this gala which, of course, is the live auction. Guests — includingWanda Gierhart, Laree Hulshoff, Ben Fischer, chairmen-elect Dianne and Mark LaRoe, Sean Magennis, Diane and Hal Brierley, Maria Magennis, and Barbara and Steven Durham —bid on coveted packages that included private performances, a multicourse dinner prepared by Dean Fearing, jaunts to Europe and Canada, and even a shopping spree package curated by Barbara Daseke.
Guests celebrated their purchases with champagne and handcrafted miniature desserts while dancing the night away to Time Machine at the packed after-party.
“The Custom Auction Gala was a remarkable success,” said TACA president and executive director Rebecca Young. “We are beyond grateful to everyone who supported an event that is truly central to our ability to provide funding and services to the most creative and engaging arts organizations in our community.”
Since its inception in 1967, TACA has distributed more than $24 million to both emerging and established performing arts organizations.
