To honor the memory of President John F. Kennedy 50 years after his assassination in Dallas, the University of Texas at Arlington Libraries Special Collections presents "Howdy, Mr. President! A Fort Worth Perspective of JFK [https: /www.uta.edu/library/spco/currentexhibit.php]." The free exhibit, which draws from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram photographic collection at UTA, documents the enthusiastic welcome the Kennedys received in Fort Worth prior to their Dallas visit. It opens September 9 and runs through February 8, 2014, at the UT Arlington Central Library. --- Here, John F. Kennedy waves to the crowd outside Hotel Texas in Fort Worth on November 22, 1963. Gov. John Connally is just behind JFK; State Sen. Don Kennard and his wife are at far left of photo.
