Punch Bowl Social restaurant in Deep Ellum lets the fun and games begin

It's been a long time coming, but the fun and games are on the way: Punch Bowl Social, the restaurant and game chain, will open its Deep Ellum location at 2600 Main St. on June 29.
This is the second Texas outpost: Punch Bowl Social Austin opened in 2014, and Punch Bowl Social Fort Worth will open in summer 2019.
Punch Bowl Social was founded in 2012 by restaurateur Robert Thompson, who opened his first location in Denver. There are now 16 locations in cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Sacramento, and San Diego.
They combine food and beverage with games and social activities including ping-pong, darts, board games, classic video games, bowling, and private karaoke rooms.
The menu includes:
- Falafel Burger with tzatziki and marinated cabbage
- Shrimp burger
- Umami Bomb Chips and Dip with cream cheese, sour cream, mushrooms and charred onions served with potato chips and celery
- Super Food Grain Bowl with crispy farro, quinoa, kale, radishes, sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, poached egg, miso ginger vinaigrette
Beverages include the namesake punches plus non-alcoholic cocktails, local beer, and wine.
Punch Bowl Social Dallas will feature a custom-built 360-degree bar and three outdoor patio spaces, with a decor that combines mountain lodge with Victorian, midcentury modern, and industrial, plus an homage to the host city. For Dallas, that means nods to Deep Ellum's reputation for music with motifs featuring jazz and punk rock.
