No More Party Fouls
Amazon Prime makes spirits brighter with free alcohol delivery in Dallas
Nothing takes the air out of a book club night or backyard barbecue faster than running out of booze. Luckily, Amazon wants to ensure Dallasites never have to endure this party foul ever again.
Beginning June 20, Amazon Prime Now is offering "superfast" delivery of beer and wine in Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.
Once that YETI cooler starts looking a little empty, Prime Now Members can log in via the app or website, make a beer or wine selection (or go nuts and buy both), and then choose a preferred delivery time. Options include free two-hour delivery or one-hour delivery for $4.99.
"Prime members can now shop hundreds of beer and wine products from popular brands including Modelo Especial, Shiner Bock, and La Marcal to local favorites such as Austin Eastciders and Independence Austin," the company teased in a release announcing the booze news.
Beer and wine delivery hours run Monday through Saturday from 8 am-midnight and Sunday from noon-midnight. Customers are required to show a valid 21-or-up ID upon delivery.
Free beer and wine delivery is the latest move in Amazon's push toward making sure no one ever has to leave the house again. Since purchasing Austin-based Whole Foods Market in June 2017, Amazon has slashed prices and expanded services, including entering into the grocery delivery game to compete with retailers such as Walmart, H-E-B, and Sprouts Farmers Market.
