New facial bar from Los Angeles pretties up Dallas with fast, no-frills treatments
An open-concept facial bar that promises to get clients in and out under and hour has chosen Dallas for its Texas debut. Los Angeles-based Face Haus will open its first Dallas location on March 16 in the upscale Preston Royal Village retail center.
Face Haus offers skin-care treatments at friendly price points in a fun, frill-free environment.
"Dallas is a Mecca for beauty, wellness, health, and food," says Jenn Worley, Face Haus cofounder and chief creative officer. "We believe the desire to get fantastic, spa-grade facials on the regular is universal.
"We’re thrilled to have planted our first Haus flag in Texas and plan to open additional locations in the near future. As a community-focused brand — 'facials for the people' —our goal is to be in locations accessible to the greater DFW population."
Worley conceived the idea for Face Haus with fellow working moms Karey Burke and Dawn Olmstead. The trio threw a facial-themed birthday party that left them shaking their heads at the pricey, time-consuming, and at times, intimidating culture of traditional day spas.
Driven by the creed "facials for the people," they enlisted celebrated Beverly Hills dermatologist Harold Lancer as consulting physician and founded their first location in West Hollywood in 2013.
"Dr. Lancer was responsible for the expert review of our protocols and model," says Worley. "He’s an incredible resource, though we now have a much bigger team that includes expert aestheticians, leads, trainers, and a new Head of Service Innovation."
Today, the company boasts five California locations, with two more (Dallas and New York City) opening this month.
Designed to give quick and easy in-and-out service, Face Haus completes most treatments within an hour. Similar to a typical salon, the space is open and airy with white leather spa chairs lined up in rows.
Upon entering, you are are handed an iPad for fast check-in and immediately escorted to your chair. One of the spa’s professional aestheticians — they call them “esthetes” —takes you through your treatment using clean, nontoxic products, which are all available for purchase. (The Éminence Organic Skin Care line is a Face Haus favorite.)
The menu features everything from the Best Man ($75), a facial formulated just for the guys, to the Spotless Reputation ($75), which addresses acne. Signature services start at $65 and can be enhanced with optional add-ons, such as microdermabrasion, waxing, and LED light.
No need to leave the kids at home, as a gentle cleansing facial called Believe in Youth is designed for kids ages 10 and under and costs just $30.
Face Haus opens March 16 at 6025 Royal Ln., Suite 123. The first 50 people to visit on opening day will receive a gift card valued between $10 and $75. Just use the code "Facials for the People."
