- While many designers are showing dark, rather drab colors for fall, some are breaking away from the pack. These three designers who showed at Mercedes-Benz Fashion week seem to have the same attitude: Go bold or stay home. For a portion of her fall collection, Monique Lhuillier [https: /moniquelhuillier.com/] looked to the deep green of a piece of malachite, which stood out as one of the season's most striking shades. At the show, we sat across from Nashville's Connie Britton, who oohed and aahed over every malachite green ensemble. ---- Monique Lhuillier malachite green feather illusion back cocktail dress.Photo courtesy of Monique Lhuillier

- A favorite of red-carpet celebrities and Princess Kate, British designer Jenny Packham [https: /www.jennypackham.com/]showcased gorgeous formal wear for fall. Packham said she was inspired by the influential women who gathered in the great intellectual salons of 17th century Paris. But we were taken with a series of modern red outfits that scream for attention. ------ Jenny Packham beaded red strapless column gownPhoto by © Dan and Corina Lecca

- Christian Siriano [https: /www.christianvsiriano.com/]also featured a few metallic red pieces, but they were outshone by a flurry of gold plated styles. His collection, inspired by the interiors of Saint Petersburg's Mariinsky Theatre, had more gold pieces than Fort Knox. Opulent gold beading and brocade dotted nearly every look — and some were gold from head to toe. ---- Christian Siriano gold beaded mesh long sleeve T-shirt with metallic gold wool cross-pleated swing skirt.Photo Courtesy of Christian Siriano

A lot of designers at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week showed dark, drab colors for fall. But not these three.
