    Townhome with architect's pedigree gets new life in North Dallas

    Trust a real estate agent to know exactly how to make a tired old property new again — and sellable. Such is the case at 5990 Lindenshire Ln. unit 125E, an agent-owned, Bud Oglesby-designed townhome that has been renovated top to bottom and everywhere in between.

    The two-bedroom end unit is as good as new, if not better.

    “With this particular home, I kind of felt like I had to ‘bring the Bud back,’” says agent Brandon Fleeman of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. “There were lots of layers of paint and wallpaper added to the home over the years, so all that came down. It was put back together as a crisp, white, open and airy space.”

    Open and airy it is, and it feels grander than its 1,479 square feet.

    “I’m a huge fan of Bud Oglesby and the lines that he used in his architecture. Lots of big walls, vaulted ceilings and large windows. That, of course, all stayed.”

    What also stayed is the galley layout of the kitchen, which Oglesby often used in his designs. “I kept the galley design but removed a small wet bar so that I could open that space up to the living room,” Fleeman adds. The kitchen upgrade includes new everything: cabinets, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and fixtures.

    Entertaining is easy, because you can see your guests seated in the living from the kitchen pass-through, and a built-in wine fridge ensures their glasses stay filled. And the space feels warm, with hardwoods running throughout the public spaces.

    In the bedrooms, fresh new carpet feels nice underfoot. Both bathrooms have dark-wood vanities with plenty of storage and light-colored tile in the tub and shower surrounds. Fixtures are sleek and modern.

    If you work from home, there’s a small study where a desk would fit, and a big window keeps it bright.

    The owner gets a two-car garage, and there’s a community pool to enjoy with neighbors. The North Dallas location is almost as appealing as the renovation. The bustling Preston-Forest intersection —Whole Foods Market, Mi Cocina, The Mercury, Meso Maya and many more — is just a stone’s throw away.

    All of this for less than $300,000 — $275,000, to be precise.

    Extraordinary modern ranch in Grapevine trots onto market for $7.2 million

    A stunning, 10-acre North Texas property that's fit for a modern cowboy has just hit the market for $7.2 million: Called the Willow Wood Horse Farm, the equestrian paradise is located on West Kimball Avenue in Grapevine, about 30 miles northwest of downtown Dallas.

    The ranch is a combination of elegant and thoughtful modern design paired with all of the practicality required of a fully functioning farm.

    According to the listing, which is held by Burgher-Ray Ranch Group and managed by David Burgher and Harlan Ray, the ranch includes several fenced pastures, an enclosed and insulated shop storage building with concrete flooring, and a seven-stall horse barn.

    A covered and irrigated riding arena is attached to the barn, every stall has its own turnout, and six of the stalls are 12 feet by 12 feet wide, and the seventh is designated as a foaling stall. An additional turnout for grazing is located adjacent to the barn, as well as a training pen.

The lower level leads to an "acoustically balanced" underground home theater featuring eight-foot concert walls, Dynaudio speakers, an Ember Audio sound system, a 250-bottle wine cooler, and a powder bathroom. The listing notes that this area could be converted into a storm cellar.

    A detached three-car garage is located next to the home, and has one EV charging station and two additional outlets for charging. Discreetly designed solar panels are hidden on top of the garage, which are capable of powering the entire residence.
    The horse barn, irrigation system, and stock pond all run off of a water well located on the property, while the primary residence uses city water with a filtration system.
    "Situated in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, just minutes from Lake Grapevine, Southlake, and an easy commute to DFW International Airport, this property affords someone the ability to have all the comforts of the city, while living just slightly removed from it all," the listing says.
