Tuesday, August 2

Raymond Vineyards Wine Dinner at Lark on the Park
Chefs Melody Bishop and Dennis Kelley pair a multicourse menu with six wines from the acclaimed Napa Valley vineyard. Courses include Boucheron with celery hearts, chives, parsley, and baguette; grilled lobster salad with mango, avocado, and scallions; duck confit with black rice, farro, lacinato kale and red plum compote; grilled rib-eye with fried baby Yukon potatoes, Swiss chard, wild mushrooms, and whole grain mustard sauce; and mignardises. Tickets are $162 per person, and the reception starts at 7 pm.

3 Nations Beer and Cheese Tasting at Scardello Artisan Cheese
Ages ago, monks found that two of their most prized products — beer and cheese — went deliciously well together. Discover that for yourself at this event that explores pairings of 3 Nations beers and 10 artisan cheeses. 3 Nations founder Gavin Secchi talks about his creations. Tickets are $40 per person, and the event begins at 7 pm.

Sommelier for a Day at III Forks
Have you ever wanted to be a sommelier at a fine-dining restaurant with a world-class wine cellar? Now is your chance. III Forks offers a Sommelier for a Day opportunity on the first Wednesday of each month from 5-7 pm, during which guests can help select featured wines for the coming month. For $20 per person, attendees sample six wines selected by the steakhouse’s wine director and enjoy hand-passed paired hors d’oeuvre created by executive chef Chris Vogeli. Beer School at Whole Foods Highland Park
Geek out with fellow beer nerds as you sip on brews from a few of our favorite breweries, and discover new beers with a resident specialist. This laid-back affair, which takes place on the first Thursday of every month, goes down in the cafe at 6:30 pm and costs only $5.

Brews & Views at Hard Rock Cafe Dallas
Every Friday night in August, the Victory Park restaurant is screening a classic “Musicians in Movies”-themed film while serving limited-time ciders by Bishop Cider Co. This week’s film is Purple Rain. The free event starts at 8 pm.

Dallas Supper Club presents Chef Vijay Sadhu at Altitude at W Dallas Victory
The pop-up dinner event returns with a new location and chef. Guests enjoy hors d’oeuvre and a five-course plated dinner prepared by chef Vijay Sadhu, with wine accompaniments. Become a member of Dallas Supper Club, and purchase tickets for this one-of-a-kind event here. Cocktails start at 7:30 pm; dinner begins at 8.

Sunday, August 7

Donut and Beer Pairing Flights at LUCK Trinity Groves
Join LUCK for the August installment of this pairing event with Glazed Donut Works. Mini doughnuts are matched with brews from North Texas craft breweries. Tickets are $17.87, and there is only one 11 am seating this month. Plan on being there for two hours.

Italian brand Lavazza Coffee opens training facility in Dallas

A coffee brand from Italy has planted a stake in Dallas: Lavazza, founded in the northern Italian city of Turin in 1895, has opened a state-of-the-art training center in Dallas, at 1722 Routh St. #960, where it will serve as a hub for coffee enthusiasts throughout the Southwest.

Dallas is the newest outlet in Lavazza's coffee training network, joining locations in New York, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, West Chester Pennsylvania, and Toronto — part of their expansion across high-growth markets in the U.S., and its mission to elevate coffee culture globally. (They're also doling out endorsement dollars in commercials featuring Steve Carell and John Krasinski.)

The facility is equipped with espresso, brewing, and coffee innovation equipment, and will serve Lavazza partners, industry professionals, baristas, and distributors. They'll offer hands-on training, SCA certification, menu development, and emerging coffee trends.

Lavazza already partners with many respected hospitality groups and culinary destinations in Dallas including Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, Coury Hospitality Group, Al Biernat's Steakhouse, and Vandelay Hospitality.

In October 2025, Lavazza also began serving coffee on flights by Fort Worth-based American Airlines — further strengthening their connection to the North Texas market. The facility will enable Lavazza to provide closer, more consistent support to these partners and help elevate their coffee programs through continued training and collaboration.

Lavazza has been owned by the Lavazza family for four generations. Today they're one of the leading players on the global coffee scene, with a portfolio of top brands that lead their respective markets, such as Lavazza, Carte Noire, Merrild, and Kicking Horse.

In a statement, Lavazza North America president Hossam Ashraf says that "Dallas has an incredible energy and an ever evolving coffee scene," while Lavazza North America Marketing VP Daniele Foti says that Dallas is great, and we must concur.

"As one of the fastest growing hospitality and culinary markets in the country, Dallas represents a tremendous opportunity for Lavazza," Foti says. "Our investment in this new Training Center demonstrates our commitment to the region and to the partners who bring the Lavazza experience to life every day. Dallas is a city of innovation and high standards, and we are excited to deepen our roots here."
