The Joule welcomes crafty cocktail den Midnight Rambler with boozy bash
After much anticipation and a few secret shindigs, cocktail king and queen Chad Solomon and Christy Pope have officially opened the doors to The Joule’s basement bar, Midnight Rambler. It’s safe to say Mick Jagger would approve.
Privileged partygoers packed the stunning subterranean space to drink signature cocktails such as the Wang Dang Dula (blanco tequila with poblano, ginger, mint, lime and celery bitters), Strawberry Verbena Fruitcup (gin, Italian vermouth with bitter, cucumber, lemon verbena and housemade strawberry soda), Teaches of Peaches (Irish whiskey with peach, lemon, ginger, lemon verbena, soda and aromatic essence), and Soul Clap (bourbon, China China Amer, maraschino, orange zest, and angostura and orange bitters).
DJ Jonathan Toubin spun vintage tunes on vinyl while guests — including Joe Cole, Kristen Lee, Audrey Saunders, Robert Hess, Shasha Petraske, Tim Headington, Michael Tregoning, Mike Modano, and Nicole and Jonas Woods — toured the hotel’s new hangout, which features two bars, leathers booths, marble tables and a walnut-barreled ceiling with glowing bulbs. CBD Provisions helped out with snacks such as black-eyed pea hummus, smoked fish dip, burgers and Cuban sandwiches, and housemade charcuterie, satisfying this boozy bunch’s need to feed.
Midnight Rambler is open nightly from 5 pm to 2 am.
