Editor’s note: Another week has come and gone, and there’s a lot we all probably missed. But we’re looking out for you, kid. Here are the most popular stories from this past week:
1. Inside the most beautiful store ever to open in Dallas: Forty Five Ten on Main. More than two years after it was announced, Forty Five Ten on Main has opened to the public. But this doesn’t just mark the evolution of the luxury emporium founded by Dallas fashion trendsetter Brian Bolke. It’s an integral part of downtown’s renaissance.
2. 5 destination bars found in Dallas’ very best restaurants. We recently unveiled our Top 100 list of the very best restaurants in Dallas, and it includes every kind and level of restaurant. Some are known for having a single great dish, like ramen; some have the best atmosphere around. These are known for their bar scenes.
3. Dallas burger king turns to fried chicken for latest restaurant. Chicken beats burgers with the opening of Quincy’s Chicken Shack, from restaurateur Jason Boso, founder of Twisted Root Burger Co. and Truck Yard. Quincy’s combines a number of emerging trends, including fried chicken, cocktails, and a backyard-style outdoor space similar to Truck Yard’s.
4. Frisco, prepare to nerd out over this video game bar and restaurant. Frisco coffeehouse Nerdvana Cafe now has a newly opened sibling restaurant next door called Nerdvana Food + Spirits, which brings together the unique combination of a video game-friendly environment with an upscale menu from a gifted chef.
5. New Dallas bar gives SMU set a patio for miles and miles. A new bar with a patio to beat all patios is coming to one of SMU’s main drags. Called the Seven Five, a nod to Central Expressway nearby, the bar will open in early 2017 in the former Nodding Donkey space, which closed in May.
