A Dallas blog called Best Damn Things is going from critiquing others to doing it themselves with a plan to open a craft beer pub on Lower Greenville called Dallas Beer Kitchen.
DBK (initializing it now) will take over the spot next to Good Records at Watel's old Greenville location and will feature 30 taps of imports and local craft beers, as well as brews from around the country.
The blog, which currently has 124 fans on Facebook, consists of four dudes who cover everything from craft beer to movies to music to, well, whatever they feel like covering in the Dallas area. They announced their plans on their website; efforts to contact them went unanswered.
But, according to the post, they won't be skimping on the food:
While Dallas Beer Kitchen will boast a carefully selected list of only the best beers, that doesn't mean we will fall short on our food. Utilizing fresh local ingredients, our made-from-scratch daily menu will have something to please every palate and set the standard in pairing fun food with beer. (Expect awesomeness such as Brisket Burgers, Movie Theater Popcorn, Tellicherry Pepper Ribs and Fried Biscuits!)
The post also reveals that they have their lease and are prepping for an opening later this spring.
It got us thinking about what a CultureMap Dallas restaurant would look like. It probably wouldn't have as well-defined a mission as DBK, but what it would lack in cohesion it would more than make up for in debates about the merits of Teresa's beloved tofu burgers versus the 70 taps that I desire. It would be a real house divided, I tell ya.
