In 2016, 13-year- old Jarron Cordell Holden II collapsed due to sudden cardiac arrest while playing basketball at Bob Knight Fieldhouse in Duncanville. Thanks to a working Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the facility, and the quick work of first responders, Holden survived. Now Holden Strong's mission is to provide affordable heart screenings and CPR and AED training to student-athletes ages 11-25 years old.
Email info@holdenstrong.org for more information about how to get involved, or subscribe to the website and follow the group on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
A community-wide heart screening happens in the spring.
