Despite its name, the Women’s Center of Tarrant County serves women, men, and children of all backgrounds, ages, and ethnicities in their times of need. With services that include rape crisis and victim services, violence prevention and education, employment assistance, and general counseling, the Women’s Center assists more than 100,000 people each year.
The Play It Safe program focuses on age-appropriate scripts and movies that teach children how to recognize and prevent physical and sexual abuse and assault. Individuals and families can seek help from the legal clinic, support groups, and older adult services.
From the rape crisis hotline — open to anyone who has ever been sexually assaulted — and exam support in the event of an assault, to skills training and helping people quickly return to the workforce, the Women’s Center provides a foundation of security for thousands of North Texans.
