The Lone Star Film festival will present a retrospective screening of Dead Man, director Jim Jarmusch’s take on the Western genre starring Johnny Depp. Depp plays William Blake, a young accountant on a journey, both physically and spiritually, into very unfamiliar terrain of the Old West. The screening will be presented by Dallas-Fort Worth filmmakers David Lowery, James M. Johnston and Toby Halbrooks of Sailor Bear Films, as Dead Man served as an influence for their 2013 feature, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints.
